Description:
The CD45RA (HI100) antibody recognizes the 205/220-kDa isoform of leukocyte common antigen expressed on 40-50% peripheral CD4+ T cells, 50% peripheral CD8+ T cells and a portion of B cells and monocytes. Studies have shown that expression of different isoforms is characteristic of differentiated subset of hematopoietic cells (for instance CD45RA on naïve/ resting T cells and CD45RD on memory/ activated T cells; CD45RA on medullary thymocytes and CD45RD on cortical thymocytes). It is also reported that the pattern of 87% of B-ALL is CD45RA+/ CD45RO-, 70% of T-ALL is CD45RA-/ CD45RD+ and 78% of B-ALL is CD45RA+/ CD45RO+.

Alternate Names: Leukocyte common antigen, L-CA, T200, CD45 antigen, PTPRC, Protein tyrosine phosphatase receptor type C
