Size: 0.2 mg
Isotype: Mouse IgG1
Applications: B, E, IHC
Protein Family: Hormones
Pathway and Disease: Carbohydrate Metabolism, Endocrine System, Metabolic Disorders, Signaling Molecules and Interaction
Description:
Glucagon-like peptide 1 (7-36)amide (GLP-1 (7-36)amide) is the principal active form of GLP-1, the other being GLP-1 (7-37). GLP-1 is a peptide hormone of the glucagon family, produced by the L cells of the intestinal mucosa from the same prohormone as glucagon. The active forms are potent stimulators of glucose-dependent insulin secretion. The sequence of GLP-1 is fully conserved in all mammalian species examined so far. This antibody is specific for the amidated C terminus of the peptide and does not react with GLP-1 (7-37). This antibody can be used in sandwich ELISA for detecting active GLP-1 or total amidated GLP-1.
Alternate Names: Glucagon-like peptide 1, GLP-1, Glucagon, GCG
Application Notes: Cat. No. 250364 reacts with the amidated C-terminus of GLP-1 (7-36)amide, GLP-1 (9-36)amide and GLP-1 (1-36)amide. Cat. No. 250364 can be used as capture antibody in a sandwich ELISA with Cat. No. 251101 (active GLP-1) or Cat. No. 251106 (total amidated GLP-1) as detection antibody. Cat. No. 250364 can been used to block endogenous GLP-1 in rats. E: 1:8,000; IHC: 1:200
Accession No.: P01275
Antigen: Synthetic GLP-1(7-36)amide coupled to carrier and adsorbed onto aluminum hydroxide gel.
Format: Each vial contains 0.2 mg IgG in 0.2 ml (1 mg/ml) of PBS pH7.4 with 0.09% sodium azide. Antibody was purified by Protein-A/G affinity chromatography.
